One of the first questions I get asked after a booking is: “What do we wear?” And honestly, I get it. Dressing small humans is already a mission, let alone trying to coordinate everyone without looking like a boy band reunion.
Here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to be stressful. The key is to keep it simple, comfortable, and true to your family. If Dad only ever wears shorts, let him wear shorts (maybe just not the neon tradie pair with paint stains). If your toddler has a meltdown because they want the tutu over the top of the dinosaur pyjamas… lean into it. I promise, those quirks end up being the photos you treasure the most.
Colour-wise, think about tones that work well together rather than everyone matching.
And remember: it’s not about “perfect outfits,” it’s about curating a moment in time. Your kids won’t care what they were wearing, but they will see how loved they were. That’s the part that matters most.
The best photos aren’t staged — they’re lived in. Wear what feels like you, and together we’ll create something timeless.
